3 Days 2 Night Stairways to Heaven (Suthep & Mae Wang)

ITINERARY

Day 1  Buffalo Soldier, fast and flowy conditioning trails with just the right amount of technical for a fun ride.

On your first day ride, we will help conditioning your body and mind to the terrain and climate in Chiang Mai by beginning the ride with the Buffalo Soldier trail. This trail is a fun mix of single and double tracks and dirt roads that link up remote hill tribe’s villages. Ride through some of the most stunning scenery of Thai highland jungle, experience the culture of Hmong Tribe in their village and stop for their fresh Arabica coffee that grew up there, while overlooking the remarkable natural landscape. The variety of trails allows for moderate to more experienced riders to challenge themselves with punchy hill climbs and blasting down in fast and flowy trails with just the right amount of technical for a fun ride through local tribe’s agriculture plantation. Enjoy the dinner and spend the night at the cozy local accommodation.

DAY 2 The real enduro adventure.

Hotel pick up and transfer to Mae Win, situated in the southern reaches two hours south of Chiang Mai. We will travel up a steep dirt road, through a Karen village and to the peaceful monastery that has been hidden in the forest, where our real endure adventure starts here.

We will be riding up a steep mountain then riding downhill in a mix of double and single tracks with the beautiful view of Op Khan and Mae Wang National Park. This part of the ride will be quite challenging on the uphill, however the route contains refreshing characteristics including abundant nature, the welcoming villagers, and a waterfall. Your weariness will mostly be diminished.

We make lunch stop at one of the Karen village to see their way of life and buy some drinks from their shop as a way to support their local revenue. Then our favorite part begins, this part of trail is fast and flowy single-track. You will be roller coasting up and down on the villager’s single track used for trading until we arrived at Wat Mae Mood, our finish line.

We will have Thai dinner under the sky full of stars and spending the night at a cozy local accommodation on the high hill areas where you could see the most beautiful sunrise in the morning.

DAY 3  Morning mountain mist, steep climb and fun descending to the river.

Breakfast with refreshing air and morning mists of the mountains. Riding starts just after Luang Khun Win Temple, it will be mainly on single track that used to be passageway for villagers’ vehicles long ago which now cluttered with vegetation. This first short section will include steep climb, big ruts a meter wide before reaching the top. So,
you better be switched on!

Then we will be descending to the river and continue on our all mountain riding (mostly downhill) through dense forest. We will also be riding across many water ways and local farmlands. The refreshments will be ready for you at the finish point. On the way back to Chiang Mai we will take you for a nice Thai/International dinner along the way. The tour concludes at the airport or at your accommodation in town (accommodation not included)

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT

The sleeping arrangements are for double rooms (1 big bed) or twin-share (2 single beds). If you are a solo rider you will be paired up with someone of the same sex, in this case you will not need to pay the single room supplement. Single room supplement adds 1000 Baht per night.
