Pyramid Peak

In the
beautiful Mae Teang district, 90 minutes north of Chiang Mai city is a unique hiking
experience which passes hilltribe villages, pine forests and mountain ridges
before eventually summiting the pyramid peak – a 1300m summit with clear views
of the surrounding area and on a clear day views of Chiang Dao, the 3rd
highest mountain in Thailand. 

The journey starts
in an idyllic Musur tribe village perched high up on a mountain bluff with a
trail winding its way up the mountain initially passing through farm areas,
then through beautiful pine forest.  As
the trail steepens you will need to do some scrambling over large boulders
before the trail plateaus as it reaches the base of the Pyramid Peak.  Your blood will be pumping as you make the
final scramble to the top for breath-taking views of the surrounding area. 



We will take a break on the summit and enjoy some snacks and refreshments
before looping back to the village to conclude the hike.  The minimum distance for the hike is 10km
with a maximum of 23km for more experienced hikers who want to complete the
long route.
