Secret Island Kayaking & Camping Tour

- Duration: 2 Days (approx.)
- Location: Meung, Chiang Mai
- Product code: PRNZQ6
Day 1
After a delicious complimentary coffee at the Trailhead café, we drive 90 minutes
north of the city to Sri Lanna National Park where Mae Ngaat reservoir is located.
On the way we will stop off at Sticky
Waterfall for some sightseeing and a light lunch. We start on the east side of
the lake where the river meets the dam and an area seldom visited by tourists
due to being hard to reach and is a stunning way to begin the tour with steep
sided cliffs and birdlife all around. Day
1 consists of approximately 12km of kayaking, which takes between 2-3 hours. There is plenty of time for photo
opportunities and enjoying nature as we make our way to the island for the
evening. The Trailhead staff will
prepare everything you need for the evening including tents, bedding and the
camp kitchen, allowing you to swim in the cool water and relax as the sun goes
down. You are in for a treat for dinner
as our experienced team cooks a range of amazing meals including BBQ, rice,
salads, fish and more.
Day 2
The day begins
nice and early with a freshly brewed coffee and a hearty breakfast of eggs,
toast, sausage and bacon before we pack up the gear and head off on the Oru
kayaks for the remainder of the journey. We meander our way down the lake and
stop off at Ekachai floating resort, an area popular with locals for enjoying a
range of activities and food. From here
the journey continues to the western side of the reservoir where the car will
be waiting to pick up and drive back to Chiang Mai. Once back at the car we will pack up the
kayaks and gear and head back to the city with drop off at your accommodation
which marks the completion of the 2-day tour.
For those feeling a little tired from day 1, there is an option to end
the tour at Ekachai resort and get the boat back.
